The Empire State Building
It is a 102-story contemporary skyscraper, declared by the American Society of Civil Engineers to be one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. The tower takes its name from the nickname of New York State. Since the World Trade Center was destroyed during the September 11, 2001 attacks, it is again the tallest building in New York City. It is currently the second tallest building in the United States after the Sears Tower in Chicago.
